Data Analytics Certificate Course Modules
Module 1: Introduction to Data Analytics and the role of a Data Analyst
You will learn what data analytics is, the different types of data analytics and the five V’s of data - Velocity, Volume, Variety, Veracity and Value. You will understand what the role of a Data Analytics entails and the different real-world use cases where data analytics are applied. We will also show you the different tools and techniques that Data Analysts use to provide insights for decision-making.
Module 2: Data Analytics and Visualization using Tableau
You will master data visualisation and data analysis using Tableau. You will create sophisticated reports, dashboards and stories that will provide insights for you and your stakeholders. Understand the different types of charts and how to select the right chart for the right visualisation problem. You will create production-ready dashboards and advance visualisations and forecasts that are used by most companies. You will also develop a portfolio of hands-on projects to gain meaningful real-world experience. At the end of this module, you will be able to create visualisations and perform analysis using Tableau to help any organisation make better decisions.
Module 3: Preparing and Analysing Data using SQL on AWS RDS Cloud Database
You will learn how to use SQL to answer business questions from performing any dataset. You will learn how to set up SQL database engines on the in-demand AWS cloud platform. You will also create databases, schemas, tables, and load data into a SQL cloud database. You will learn how to load, clean, aggregate, filter, transform, load data into a SQL cloud database. You will learn how to write different types of queries - single-table queries, joins, sub-queries, creating views and window functions. You will also develop a portfolio of hands-on projects to gain meaningful real-world experience. At the end of this module, you will use your hands-on SQL knowledge to transform any datasets and get insights to make informed business decisions.
Module 4: Analysing Big Data using AWS Cloud Data Analytics Services.
You will learn how to process big data stored on AWS S3 using AWS Cloud Data Analytics Services. Some of these AWS Analytics services are AWS Glue and AWS Athena. AWS S3 is a data repository that can store all data types (structured, semi-structured and unstructured). It can also be used to create a data lake for all your data. You will learn how to use AWS Glue to automatically detect meta-data (data about your data) from your big data stored on AWS S3 and can be used to create ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Python and Spark Codes which are used to transform your data. You will learn how to use AWS Athena to write SQL codes that can query big data in-place on AWS S3 without manually modelling the data. At the end of this module, you will be able to catalogue, analyse and transform big data stored in the AWS cloud without manually setting up servers or modelling your data set.
