Introduction to Tableau Course
You will master data visualisation and data analysis using Tableau. You will create sophisticated reports, dashboards and stories that will provide insights for you and your stakeholders. Understand the different types of charts and how to select the right chart for the right visualisation problem. You will create production-ready dashboards and advance visualisations and forecasts that are used by most companies. You will also develop a portfolio of hands-on projects to gain meaningful real-world experience. At the end of this module, you will be able to create visualisations and perform analysis using Tableau to help any organisation make better decisions.
Introduction to Tableau Course
Unit 1: Tableau Fundamentals
You will learn the fundamentals of Tableau - how to download Tableau Public software, how to set up Tableau and the Tableau interface. We will also cover the different visualisations in Tableau and what use case to use for each visualisation.
Unit 2: Importing and Joining Data Sets
We will cover how to import data into Tableau. We will cover dimensions and measures, which will help you understand what data columns to use when creating your reports. You will learn data modelling - how to join different tables together to get the desired fields to use for your reports.
Unit 3: Creating Reports and Calculated Field on Tableau
You will learn how to create different reports - bar charts, pivot tables, line charts, bullet charts, etc. You will also learn how to use the "Show Me" feature to create your visualisations automatically. We will cover how to create calculated fields - create a new field from existing fields.
Unit 4: Creating Forecasts on Tableau
You will learn how to quickly create a forecast with a few clicks and drag-and-drop on Tableau. This skill will help you create forecasts for sales, inventory, employees, etc. Forecasting in Tableau uses a technique known as exponential smoothing. Forecast algorithms try to find a regular pattern in measures that can be continued into the future.
Unit 5: Creating Dashboards on Tableau
You will learn how to create beautiful dashboards from all the different reports you have created. Dashboards give your stakeholders a summarised view of most of the key reports in your analysis. Dashboards make it easy to glean insights across multiple reports at the same time.
Unit 6: Creating Stories on Tableau
Learn to tell a meaningful story with your dashboards and reports. In Tableau, a story is a sequence of visualisations that work together to convey information. You can create stories to tell a data narrative, provide context, demonstrate how decisions relate to outcomes, or to simply make a compelling case.
